FAQ

Common questions.

Is the per-tx fee in addition to gas?
No. The BlockPay fee is deducted from the same USDC the customer is sending, and gas is paid in USDC on Arc. Your customer sees one number; you receive one settlement.
Do you ever hold customer funds?
Never. Settlement is direct-to-wallet via an open-source router contract. We literally cannot pause withdrawals — there is no admin key on the merchant balance path.
When are fees actually charged?
On the same transaction that pays the merchant. The router splits the customer's amount into merchant payout + protocol fee in a single atomic call. No invoicing, no separate withdrawals.
Can I switch plans without downtime?
Yes. Plan flips take effect at the next checkout; no contract migration or key rotation required. Existing settlements remain on the router contract you originally used.
What happens if I exceed my volume cap?
Free tier overage caps you at $10K/mo — the next attempted checkout returns a 402 with a link to upgrade. Pro overages are billed at the Pro per-tx rate. Enterprise has no cap.
How are refunds priced?
Refunds are free — we don't charge fees on negative payments. You pay gas to broadcast the refund tx, which is also denominated in USDC on Arc.
